...until the end !
We read: Revelation 2:8-11
And we hold on to this beautiful encouragement: “Be faithful unto death, and I will give you the crown of life.”
This promise was made to the church in Smyrna, afflicted and poor, though truly rich! Yet the Lord asked her to stand firm despite tribulations.
In this unstable world where God has placed us, where convictions waver and commitments are broken as quickly as they are made, God calls His children to remain faithful. Not only in the good days, not only when it is easy, but until the very end, even when it costs!
Faithfulness is not just a feeling; it is a constant decision, a daily choice.
Faithfulness: A Reflection of God’s Character
-
God is faithful. It is more than an attribute—it is His very essence!
“God is faithful, who has called you into fellowship with His Son.” – 1 Corinthians 1:9
He does not change, He does not betray, He does not disappoint. People will always fail you, but not God! -
The Christian, as the image of God, is called to reflect this faithfulness.
➤ If God looks at your life today, does He see in you a reflection of His faithfulness?
Being Faithful in the Little Things
“Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much.” – Luke 16:10
-
Faithfulness begins in ordinary matters: daily prayer, integrity, honesty, consistency.
-
Too many Christians want to be faithful in great missions, yet neglect small responsibilities.
-
God is not looking for perfection; He seeks faithful, reliable, and steady hearts.
➤ Example: David was faithful as a shepherd before he became king.
Remaining Faithful in Trials
Faithfulness is truly tested when everyone is against us:
-
When prayers seem unanswered.
-
When others abandon the path.
-
When the enemy whispers that God has forgotten you.
It is then that the true disciple clings to God, not by emotion, but by faith.
➤ Faithfulness is not the absence of doubt. It is the decision to stand firm despite doubt.
The Reward of Faithfulness
“Be faithful unto death, and I will give you the crown of life.” – Revelation 2:10
-
Faithfulness is honored by God. Maybe not right away, but always in His time.
-
There is an eternal reward, but also fruits here and now: peace, inner strength, a living testimony.
➤ The world admires success. God honors faithfulness.
Today, God is not asking you to be spectacular, popular, or perfect.
He asks you to be faithful.
Faithful in your faith. Faithful in your love. Faithful in your commitment.
And He has promised this: “Well done, good and faithful servant… enter into the joy of your Master.” (Matthew 25:21)
