Every human being who is born of the seed of man is born a sinner in the kingdom of darkness...
and belongs to the darkness. There is not a single baby who can be born into the Kingdom of God.
There is only one person who was born in the Kingdom of God on earth: Jesus Christ, the Son of the living God, who was not born of the corrupt seed of man, but was born of God.
Although Jesus walked on the earth, He did not belong to the kingdom of darkness—that is, to the world ; Jesus belongs to the Kingdom of God.
He lived in that Kingdom, represented it, and brought it to humanity on the earth. Thus the living Word, Jesus Christ, came in human likeness to deliver fallen man from the power of darkness and transfer him into the light.
Since the coming of the Holy Spirit, who convicts of sin, people have the power to be delivered from the power of the kingdom of darkness—through faith in Jesus Christ, the Son of God; by His blood and by identification with His death and His resurrection from the dead; by regeneration—and to be transferred into the Kingdom of Jesus Christ.
This was, and still is, the only way to be delivered from the power of darkness and to be transferred into the Kingdom of God, where Jesus Christ is King.
As long as a person is not born again, they can neither see the Kingdom of God nor enter and inherit it (John 3:3–5; 1 Corinthians 6:9–10; 15:50).
Because the person remains bound, through the flesh, to the power of the kingdom of darkness, their spirit remains under the authority of death.
When a person is delivered from the power of darkness and transferred into the light by faith, they will change and live differently, since their nature has changed.
Trough faith and regeneration—the death of the flesh and the resurrection of the spirit from the dead—and by the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, this person has become a new being and possesses the nature of God ; thus they belong to the Kingdom of God.
This person will walk as the new, regenerated person, in obedience according to the Spirit, doing the will of the Father, and will be a witness of Jesus Christ, representing and bringing His Kingdom on the earth. 2 Cor. 5:20
“Do not be conformed to this present age, but be transformed by the renewing of the mind, so that you may discern what is the will of God—what is good, pleasing, and perfect.” (Romans 12:2).
By the Holy Spirit and by the renewal of the mind through the Word of God, this person will learn to know the good, pleasing, and perfect will of the Father. This is the transfer of our will to that of God...
The darkened carnal mind, which has been controlled by the kingdom of darkness—the world—for all those years, will be enlightened by the truth of the Word of God.
This person will listen to God and submit to Him, and through obedience to His Word will walk by faith in the will of God.
“Do not be yoked together with unbelievers...”
For what fellowship is there between darkness and light? What does righteousness have in common with sin? What does truth have in common with the lie? What does God have in common with the devil? Absolutely nothing!
Thus, those who belong to the Light will no longer be participants in the darkness and will no longer do the works of those who belong to the darkness. But they will come out from among them and consecrate themselves to God, obeying and serving Jesus Christ and the Father by the Spirit (Ephesians 5:5–7).
“He has delivered us from the power of darkness and transferred us into the kingdom of His beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.” (Colossians 1:13–14).
If we have repented and say that we are born again, and thus delivered from the power of darkness, but we continue to do the works of darkness, from what have we been delivered? From what has Jesus delivered us?
“For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord; walk as children of light.” (Ephesians 5:8).
But now that we are born again, we no longer belong to the kingdom of darkness. For through faith in Jesus Christ, by His blood and by regeneration, we have been delivered from the power of darkness and transferred from the kingdom of darkness into the Kingdom of Light.
“Jesus spoke to them again and said, ‘I am the light of the world. Whoever follows Me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.’” (John 8:12).
We will no longer be blinded in our understanding, and we will no longer live in disobedience to God. Rather, by the resurrection of our spirit from the dead, we have become spiritual and we live in obedience to God, in the light.
“This is the message we have heard from Him and declare to you: God is light, and in Him there is no darkness at all. If we say that we have fellowship with Him and yet walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. But if we walk in the light, as He Himself is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.” (1 John 1:5–7).
“I have come as light into the world, so that whoever believes in Me should not remain in darkness.” (John 12:46).
God is Light, and in Him there is no darkness. Therefore, if we are born of God and belong to Him, there must be no darkness in us.
We will thus walk according to the Spirit in the Kingdom of God, just like Jesus Christ. We will walk as He did—in the light, in the truth of God—and we will be the light of the world.
