A few keys to Christian success :
1. At first, that we put Him in first place !
“You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength.” (Deuteronomy 6:5)
God asks us to love Him and therefore give Him the first place.
If we walk in the right way and take care of His business, He will take care of ours and make them succeed. Read Psalm 1.
2. That we know God’s plan for us
We all need to know what God is calling us to and stay focused on that goal despite adversity. If you don’t know His plan for you, it’s important to ask God about it in prayer, for He knows our future.
Psalm 139:16: “When I was still unformed, your eyes saw me; and in your book were written all the days ordained for me, before one of them came to be.”
3. To discern which season we are in
It is important to recognize the season of life we are currently going through—not only from our viewpoint, but especially in relation to God’s will, who wants to lead us from glory to glory.
4. To learn in wilderness seasons
In the desert, God speaks to us ! The desert is a quiet place where God sets us apart from our usual circles to sharpen our hearing and show us new things. Most callings of the great men of God took place in the desert! Let us accept these crossings; they are for our good. Let the Holy Spirit lead us, not our emotions.
We often devise plans and then ask God to make them succeed and bless them. In fact, it should be the other way around: let the Holy Spirit inspire and guide our projects, and we will see God approve and bless them.
Read James 4:13–15.
5. To keep a God-given schedule
Let’s put order into the daily timetable God gives us. Give Him the firstfruits of our time and our full attention, for He desires to speak to us.
6. To apply the royal law
God proved His great love through the work of the cross; now He expects us to love Him in return—and to love our neighbors.
“For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16)
“I give you a new commandment : love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.” (John 13:34)
7. To discover and accept what God says we are
The Bible is like a mirror—it shows us exactly who we are and how God sees us. Read James 1:23–25.
God wants to show us what He desires to change in us and draw our attention to it. Let us humbly accept change with His help; this is the path to sanctification, without which no one will see the Lord. (Hebrews 12:14)
By putting all this into practice, we will be blessed and become actors in our Christian life, not mere spectators.
