Dear friends, today, everyone wants your opinion.
Companies ask for your feedback, influencers want your likes, and the world wants to know what you think.
But God… does not ask for your opinion.
God gives His Word, and His Word is non-negotiable.
1. The Bible: not tailor-made, but ready-to-wear
When you buy clothes, they can be adjusted to your size, but the Bible is not tailor-made.
It is spiritual ready-to-wear : the Bible is given for everyone, just as it is.
It does not adapt to you ; you must adapt to it!
Because Jesus is the Head of the Church.
Not men, not trends, not social networks, nor influencers.
2. The danger of human opinions
Here’s the problem : many churches have been carried away, functioning like businesses.
They ask: “What do people want?” instead of asking : “Lord, what do You want?”
So they organize services that please the flesh:
-
lots of music and effects of all kinds,
-
little prayer,
-
short, motivational sermons that don’t correct anyone.
The result? The pews are full, but hearts remain empty ; crowds are drawn, but souls are lost.
3. Jesus removes the lampstand
The Bible says in Revelation that Jesus will remove the lampstand from unfaithful churches, and many churches today no longer shine… because they have replaced the light of Christ with the wisdom of the world.
They think their methods are enough, but without Jesus, a church is dead.
We must use God’s ways to evangelize, not the world’s.
4. The only way: repentance
Good news: as long as Jesus has not returned, God still leaves the door open!
God says: “Return to me, and I will return to you.” (Zechariah 1:3)
What the Church should do is not seek people’s opinion, but seek God’s will; then Jesus will restore the lampstand, and the Church will shine again in this dark world.
5. A Church that reflects Christ
We are not called to please men; we are called to reflect Jesus Christ.
He said: “My teaching is not mine, but His who sent me.” (John 7:16)
In the same way, our words, our actions, our lives must reflect the Father.
The world wants to know your opinion.
But God wants His opinion to become yours, by the renewing of your mind through His Word.
Conclusion
So let me ask you today:
Is your Christian life directed or influenced by people’s opinions, or by the Word of God?
Is your church centered on Jesus Christ, or on what people want to hear? The time has come to choose: to please the world, or to please God.
To remain in darkness, or to shine as a light.
May the Church of Jesus Christ rise up, not to give its opinion, but to proclaim God's Truth!
